The King and I

We are delighted to report that our very own Ms Lewis will be taking part in the upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'The King and I', showing at York Theatre Royal from Wednesday 8th March - Saturday 18th March. Ms Lewis will be playing the character of Lady Thiang, the King's Chief Wife and mother of the Crown Prince. Our ex-student, Jack Porter will be joining Ms Lewis on stage, playing her son, the Crown Prince of Siam and heir to the Kingdom.

'The King and I' is a moving, radiant story of East meets West. It is set in the early 1860s when newly widowed Anna Leonowens and her son, Louis, set sail from their native England for Bangkok, Siam (now Thailand).

With a beautiful score including well known songs such as; Getting To Know You, Something Wonderful and Hello Young Lovers this production will also be visually stunning with colourful costumes, scenery, masks and dancing.

If you would like to support Ms Lewis and Jack while enjoying this fabulous production, please book tickets online or call York Theatre Royal box office on 01904 623568.
