Riding for Resources - Laptops for Learning

On Saturday 1st May, Mr David Middleton, Governor of Selby High School successfully took part in the Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride. The sportive route, starting and finishing in Scarborough, followed parts of Stage 3 of the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire. There were three distances for riders to choose from: 40km, 85km and 115km. A highlight of this amazing event was the 1km sea front sprint finish, crossing the very same line as the pro riders.

David took part in the full 115 km ride to raise money for students who face weekly and daily challenges at Selby High School, as a result of either physical or learning needs. David is raising money in order to help purchase a four laptop self-charging unit that will be available for students to use who receive some of their education in the Student Support Centre, including those with short-term medical needs. To date, an amazing £1,410 has been raised.

Mr Eckersley praised Mr Middleton for his great achievement and thanked him a million times on behalf of all the staff and students at Selby High School.
