Connecting Classrooms

Maria Quinor has joined the MFL department here at Selby High School today. Maria is a teacher from a school in Brazil which is linked with Riccall County Primary School and is spending a week there visiting the school and seeing all the different classes. As her link school is a primary, Maria has joined us today to see what a secondary school is like in England and has been observing Mrs Haigh and Miss Harwood's Spanish lessons, also teaching the students a few words in Portuguese! Both staff and students have found it really interesting hearing all about the differences between schools here and in Brazil.

Maria has been very impressed with Selby High School, especially the facilities and how big the school is. She has really enjoyed looking at all the fantastic displays around the school.

Lauren Noble, one of our Year 7 students was a pupil at Riccall County Primary school and in Year 6 wrote a letter to Maria at the link school. Today, they finally had the opportunity to meet, with Maria presenting Lauren with beautiful gifts.
