Bewerley Park

Bewerley Park 2015 proved to be a resounding success and provided some memorable experiences for all participants.  The visit had a slightly soggy start to proceedings with unseasonal weather trying to dampen the spirits of the pupils.  The resilient Yr8 pupils revelled in the challenging conditions and although some activities had to be changed due to the weather they ensured that they maximised their opportunities in each of the tasks they faced.  The learning did not stop once they had devoured their evening meal; the evening activities were undertaken with the same vigour as those in the daytime, a night walk, orienteering and problem solving tasks were all keenly completed.  The highlight of the evening activities for all was the disco on the last night, never before has Bewerley Park seen such commitment on the dance floor, with DJ Crawford on the decks, the pupils celebrated their last night at the centre and the welcomed arrival of the sunshine!  All the activities provided a thrilling and challenging experience for the pupils, the most enjoyable of these appeared to be the ghyll scrambling and mountain biking at Gisburn forest.  The week was, yet again, a great week for the pupils to develop their skills in outdoor activities and a great chance for them to learn a little bit more about themselves.
