Amelia Marson to represent Yorkshire & Humber at National Science & Engineering Competition

Ex-student Amelia, 16, is gearing up for the finals of the science and engineering competition after creating a child’s traditional rocking horse as part of her Product Design GCSE .

She entered her project into the National Science and Engineering Competition in June 2013 at The Yorkshire Air Museum where she won the regional heat.

Amelia chose to make a child's toy to develop a child’s mental and physical abilities, she make the rocking horse complete with instruction manual and grooming brush to teach children about caring for pets.

She will now go head-to-head with pupils from across the country when she represents Yorkshire and Humber at the finals of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists And Engineers Fair in Birmingham in March.

Amelia will pitch her design to celebrity judges in a Dragons’ Den process.
